Grand Laker Canoe Fishing

Free cancellation
Grab a fishing partner and join Registered Maine Fishing Guide John Floyd in his traditional Maine Grand Laker canoe for world-class fishing in the remote, pristine waters of Junior & Scraggly lakes. Junior Lake is a two-tier fishery offering both cold and warm water species. The 3,866 acre lake boasts many islands, minimal development and a true wilderness fishing experience. After ice out and through early spring, trolling with streamers for landlocked Atlantic salmon is very effective as salmon are still swimming at the top, feeding on baitfish. For bass fishing in June, it’s common to cross the big lakes under power and then spend the day fishing (and paddling) the shoreside spawning grounds. What is a Grand Laker? Ever since the early 1900's, the eponymous Grand Laker, an agile square-stern canoe, both long and slender, has remained the preferred craft of the Grand Lakes region's guides. The boats have been touted for their responsiveness when paddled and when powered by an outboard.
