Kenai River salmon fishing can target any and all available salmon. May and June is typically King salmon and sometimes sockeye salmon. July is also King salmon with lots of sockeye salmon opportunities. In August we have Sockeye, Pink and Silver salmon. August through October is Silver salmon season. We use power boats and drift boats in this salmon fishery. We often combine trophy rainbow trout fishing with our salmon charters.

We chase salmon on the Kasilof River 12 miles south of Soldotna. This is a fantastic fishery with King salmon, sockeye salmon, silver salmon and steelhead all available depending on when you plan to visit. We have amazing cabins right on the river and can pick you up and/or drop you off right at your cabin depending on the trip we take together. We use safe and comfortable 20 foot Willie drift boats and fish this scenic river with only the sound of oars dipping into the glacial waters.

We target huge wild and native rainbow trout on the Kenai River all year long! These fish feast on salmon roe, smolt, and salmon flesh most of the year. This high protein diet allows these fish to grow larger than the same species found throughout the United States. These Kenai River rainbows can be caught on the fly rod or on spinning rods depending on your preference! Excellent fishery in a beautiful location. This can be a full or half day trip depending on angler preference.

We can take one or two anglers per guide on a walk in trip to any number of lakes or streams. These are more intimate and private adventures. We generally focus on trout, dolly varden char, grayling, or steelhead for these trips. Fun add on for the serious angler.

These Cook Inlet halibut adventures depart from Ninilchik, Anchor Point and /or Homer depending on where the fishing is the best! We fish our 32 foot custom built and very comfortable vessel. We have a very experienced captain and crew! Halibut are large fish and provide lots of tasty meals for many future dinners. We fish up to 6 people per vessel. This is a great way to put fish in the freezer while enjoying whale watching and marine mammal viewing ibn one of Alaska's most scenic locations!

In 1991 I graduated from Georgia Southern University, loaded my back pack, drove to Seattle, ditched the car, caught the ferry, slept on the deck up the Inside Passage, got off in Haines and hitch-hiked all summer with a very light budget and a fairly heavy back pack. Most of our rides came from local Alaskans that hauled us around the state sharing laughs, stories, fishing tips and on occasion their “secret fishing spots”. After hitch-hiking more than two thousand miles, eating pounds of wild...
